Since late 2003 I've been using a digital camera to take photos for this website. My Olympus Camedia 350z came from Amazon (UK). It's been a life-enhancing thing indeed, though only a low/mid-priced model.
If you're buying a digital camera from Amazon, please think about using the links to Amazon on this page when you make your purchase, as this helps pay the hosting costs for this site, through referral fees from my Amazon Associates account.
Digital cameras are getting cheaper and cheaper. For about the price I paid for my non-weatherproofed 3.2 megapixel camera, you can now get a sleek, weatherproofed, 5 megapixel camera from the same manufacturer: Olympus Mju Mini S Digital Camera Enamel Black.

The Olympus Camedia 350z didn't come with a case, as it seems many of the cameras don't. Look out for a suitable case under the suggested accessories for your chosen camera.
And as digital cameras eat batteries, you'll also need a battery charger
if you haven't already got one - try the Uniross Sprint Classic Fast Charger for Ni-Cd & Ni-Mh batteries (includes 2 Ni-Mh AA Batteries)
The 16MB card my camera arrived with seemed okay to begin with - but
after a few weeks I began to realise that higher capacity cards are a
must if you want to take higher resolution photos. Olympus cameras like
mine use the Olympus xD cards.
