18 May 2008 - The middle part of the garden, from in front of Millennium Shed. The red-leaved shrub is an acer - Acer palmatum var. dissectum 'Garnet'. This has since been relocated to a shadier and more sheltered position to protect its delicate leaves. (Just by it is a tenacious nettle, which has resisted removal. I've tried to remove it but it's difficult to do so without falling in the pond. So as it's apparently a wildlife-friendly plant, I thought I'd just leave it there.)
